A big part of what we do is taking our music outside. We regularly film ourselves playing live in the mountains and around the coast near home, which has become a big part of the band’s identity and helped us build an audience online.
We’re completely independent and run Lonely Mountain as a family. We record our music from our home studio, make our own videos and artwork, and handle the majority of the work behind the scenes ourselves.

We’ve been steadily building a strong, dedicated audience that both stream our music virtually and attend live shows. We have found the most impactful way of reaching new fans and staying connected with them has been through our social media. We walk up mountains and record ourselves performing original music and covers as per fans requests.
With two EP’s under our belt, we’re currently recording our first album, which we’re aiming to release in early 2027.
LIVE
Playing live is a massive part of our identity.
We’ve played everything from weddings and private events to hundreds of pubs and our own ticketed shows. We’re now looking to take Lonely Mountain into more folk and roots venues and festivals across the UK and Ireland.
We’ve sold out a number of smaller headline shows in North Wales and are currently close to selling out our 350-capacity headline show at Neuadd Ogwen.
Having recently performed at the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival in Ireland, we’re keen to include more festival slots in our calendar for 2027.
Highlights:
- 80 cap headline show sold out in Yr Heulyn (North Wales)
- Headline show in the Ruthin Assembly Rooms (as pictured above)
- Support slot for Bwncath (reputable folk band in the Welsh music scene) in District, Liverpool
- Support slot for Oliver Hazard (US indie-folk band) in The Lexington, London
- Sold over 250 tickets so far to a headline show in Neuadd Ogwen (North Wales) October 2026
- Performed at a variety of local festivals across the UK including Maccs Farm, The Rottal Estate and many more
- Performed multiple slots at the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival 2026
- Gigging experience with Lonely Mountain since 2023

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US
We’re two brothers from Llanfairfechan in North Wales, surrounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other.
That landscape naturally became part of Lonely Mountain. We’re a family that’s massively into our walking, cycling, climbing and sailing- so the outdoors quickly made a large impact on our sound.
Our dad is a filmmaker and mountaineer who helps us with videography and production, while our younger brother Charlie designs much of our artwork and merchandise. Our mum Kate looks after the admin and bookings.
So Lonely Mountain is very much a family-run project. However, we also perform regularly with other musicians including an incredible fiddle player and double bassist.
We’re not trying to build a huge team around the band at this stage. We like making things ourselves, staying independent and gradually building something that feels like our own.
2027
We’re releasing our first album in early 2027 and are planning a small UK tour around the release in February.
We’re then looking to play a wider selection of folk, roots, Americana and outdoor festivals across the UK and Ireland throughout summer 2027, before expanding our touring further afield later in the year.
